A virtual private network (VPN) serves at least two key functions: to enhance security across public networks, and to carry the traffic from local area networks (LANs) across public networks with different protocols and addressing. Every VPN is going to have different requirements for each goal.
Address the following:
When would you want to configure a site-to-site VPN?
Why might you choose Level 2 tunneling protocol or internet protocol security (L2TP or IPsec) VPN over secure sockets layer or transport layer security (SSL or TLS), or vise-versa?
