Integrating information from the three case studies (Small Modular Reactors, Canadian Post-War Economic Stabilization Policy, and Regulating online “Broadcasting” in Canada) applies the Advocacy Coalition Framework (the document takes stock of ACF explains the framework)
Linkages between the three policy areas above and the implications of these cases for understanding policy development more generally in this paper. Not all the course readings will apply to the framework you choose, but when a reading provides insights, you should stress this in the paper. Although you should use the course readings as the primary sources, the research paper must be more than a simple summary of textual material. You may, therefore, supplement the course materials with other secondary and primary source materials, including newspapers, government documents, policy papers, archival material, interviews, and anything else that falls into this category. You are further cautioned that web surfing is not academic research, in general. While retrieving scholarly articles via online databases is acceptable, using websites in public (unless websites of governments think tanks, or other reputable organizations) is strongly discouraged. Should papers be submitted with more than casual use of questionable websites instead of academic research, they will be returned with a failing grade regarding referencing APA style. Documents lacking the appropriate citation of sources will be returned to you unmarked and may be assigned a failing grade. When examining the different policy areas, you are encouraged to think about the paper.
Mary, I am attaching all the documents you must use for this paper and feel free to find other academic citations online. You don’t have to use every document I sent you, but you have to use at least one or two documents for each case study.
