I’m trying to apply Undergraduate Lab Helper Position in Stem Cell Research
Project Description: Ruohola-Baker Stem Cell lab at UW Medicine South Lake Union is currently looking for students for a lab helper position. Ruohola-Baker laboratory is interested in understanding the molecular networks and signaling pathways that protect stem cells against cell death using the excellent adult stem cell models in Drosophila melanogaster. The goal now is to dissect the molecular nature of these survival signals. Duties and Responsibilities: • Operating equipment and performing general lab duties • Take care of the Drosophila in the lab by constantly making sure the Drosophila stocks are healthy and well fed. In addition, the student is required to make fly food when necessary, to ensure that the lab has a continuous supply of food for both fly stocks and for ongoing fly experiments.
