Identify a service agency in the US that recognizes diversity among the aging population of their communities by providing services that meet the needs of diverse populations or are geared towards segments of specific populations (e.g. race, ethnicity, religion, rural isolation, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class). For example, here is an article from the Washington Post, “Senior Centers Respond to Increased Diversity Among Older Population,” that describes how senior centers and nursing homes in the Washington Metro area are adjusting to meet the needs of people who speak many different languages. Once you have identified the agency:
Describe the agency’s history, mission and funding sources.
Identify the populations that they serve.
Analyze how their services impact the designated populations
