I want this paper to be about the problems the “rivalry” between the DR and Hait

I want this paper to be about the problems the “rivalry” between the DR and Haiti have been causing each other throughout the years. these two countries have a very long history of tragic and devastating instances. although these two countries literally share an island, these two countries do not have the best or most healthy relationship. In addition, give a little background story as to how the relationship between these two countries is not the best (how it all started) but try to focus on recent or current events.
I do not want this paper to be about race/racism. if it has to be mentioned in a paragraph, it can be, but I do not want it to be the main focus of this paper.
