You will be asked in your group to collect and analyze social media data and present to the class findings you have gathered from the data. The goal is to utilize the data to better understand our audiences for the brand in question.
Over the course of 2 weeks, you will be asked to collect social media data on a brand of your choice.
You will need to come up with an audience profile by using the data you have collected. You will need to gather as much data as you can to present an overview of a key audience of the brand that is interacting with them on social media. This social media data can come from Instagram and Twitter, as well as from TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.
For your presentation and report (where you will need to create a 10-slide presentation and a five-page single-space report), you will be asked to address the following components:
• Client overview and background
• Research and data insights approach: Discuss the approach your group took to gather, collect, and analyze the data. Tools to use can range for data collection. Free tools you can use include Hootsuite, Google Trends, and so on—but you can also sign up for a free trial for an enterprise tool to gather these insights as well, such as Brandwatch, Zoomph, Talkwalker, Social Bakers, and so on.
• Detailed audience profile based on the data collected: Identify the key characteristics (e.g., demographics, psychographics, etc.) for each audience. Showcase example profiles you found in your data that would illustrate this audience.
• Identify significant findings from the social insights for each audience: What are the biggest findings you gathered from the data? How do these insights connect with the overall brand’s mission and purpose? Propose three strategies you would recommend for the company to do to engage this audience on social media.
• References and appendix: Provide your references and citations (5 minimum) and copies of the data reports you gathered from the audience insights tool you used.
