Assignment: Choose one issue. What do you perceive is the most pressing issue facing LGBTQIA youth or LGBTQIA older adults right now? There is no right answer, this is simply your opinion as long as you can substantiate why it rises above the rest for you. For example: What is it that makes that issue such a priority? Is it the magnitude of the issue? Long term or short-term implications? The cost? What convinces you of the urgency? Why does it rise to the top above other issues?
Criteria: You will receive a maximum of 5-points. Full credit will be awarded when you include a clear statement naming one issue as the most pressing for an age cohort and you include an assessment that supports your reasoning as to why the issue you chose is the most pressing for that age group.
Background/Purpose: In our readings/learnings we have covered many risk factors and current issues affecting LGBTQ persons across the lifespan. I want you to think critically about how current issues affect people/places/society now and down the road. I want you to practice assessing potential implications of current issues through the lens of short-term and long-term consequences.
