This assignment is similar to the first reading response.
The syllabus is divided into sections, each one of which is headed by a question. Pick one of the readings that we have covered so far and think about whether it answers the question adequately. (For example: the question for Anselm is, Does God exist?) You must choose a different reading to the one you wrote about for your first reading response.
i chose Aquinas argument Five proof
he assignment is to write an essay which first of all explains the argument in the reading and then gives your view as to how well the philosopher has answered the question.
Your grade will primarily be based on i) how well you explain the argument in the reading and ii) how well you make an a argument for your own position.
The paper should be 2 1/2 to 4 pages in length, double spaced. The limits are not strict but less than 2 1/2 is unlikely to be enough.
Include citations as appropriate. A reminder: uses of other people’s words must be put within quotation marks and credited via a citation; if you use a point someone else makes you should use a citation. Background research that is not used in your work does not need a citation. You may use any standard format for citations.
Work should be submitted through Blackboard, by email with a PDF of Word attachment or on paper.
The assignment is due at the start of class on October 30. It makes up 10% of the grade for the semester.
