The second part of your research proposal – the literature review – is due this

The second part of your research proposal – the literature review – is due this week. The literature review is worth 100 points and has been assigned to help you gather and organize relevant information from scholarly journal articles pertaining to your proposal draft. You will take the problem statement you submitted earlier in the semester and explain what we know (or don’t know) in the research literature about your research question. You can also note how other researchers have looked at your problem of interest. This step forms the foundation for most all scholarly research work. For this assignment, you are required to review at least five (5) scholarly journal articles that pertain to your research proposal topic and write about two paragraphs about each article and how it relates to your topic. Generally, you should describe the study, methods used, findings, and how that study relates to your research topic. You should then summarize the work you compiled in this assignment into what we know about the topic and what opportunities you see for further research in your topic area. When you submit this assignment, you will add the literature review to the problem statement you submitted earlier. Of course, you will need to add some transition between the problem statement and the literature review. You will see how to do that by looking at other research literature. Just do it the same way. At this time, you may decide to refine your research question and hypotheses based on information you got from the literature. That is perfectly acceptable – you just can’t change your topic. You can also make any changes to the things you wrote in the problem statement.
