Instructions–
Please note the Discussions are not designed to be another “written assignment”. Discussions should elicit thoughtful discourse among peers, similar to those in a physical classroom, and serve as a platform for fluid exchange of ideas, weaving your understanding of the week’s concept to the given topic. Clarity of writing, rules of grammar, and punctuation are important. Research might be required on your part to be an informed participant, with proper credit given to original authors and sources to meet University’s plagiarism policies, but Discussions are not asking you to write another scholarly essay.
-Addresses all aspects of the initial discussion question(s) by demonstrating knowledge, understanding, and application of concepts from the module.
-Integrates evidence from required readings and module’s lesson to support discussion. Sources are credited using APA style.

Title: Developing the Evaluation Question
Discussion Prompt#3
Initial Post Instructions
In your previous research coursework, you were introduced to the research question. A step early in the research process that provides the framework for the research activity. As is the case with basic research, evaluation research begins with the development of the research question. In fact, as the term progresses, you’ll notice that various types of evaluation research are discerned by the fundamental research question. Much of the focus of this evaluation course is on summative evaluation—determining the effectiveness or “impact” of the intervention provided. A well-structured and detailed evaluation plan provides results related to the proximal and distal outcomes for an intervention.
For this discussion, you will develop two evaluation questions that you will eventually answer through analyses in the Unit 4 Assignment. You will have one question related to the proximal outcome and one for the distal outcome for one of the interventions selected as part of the Templeton Family Services & Support Program (Links to an external site.). It will be necessary to visit the website for the program and examine the various measures used for each program.
Check the Module 1 Lesson for example and explanation on proximal outcome and distal outcome.
In the initial post, state each question and briefly describe the outcome measure you are using for each question. Include a statement of the specifics within Templeton’s services that you are evaluating.
