Hi all,
This announcement is to update the requirements for the Article Presentation and Discussion Assignment (due in Module 12) and to provide you with resources for completing the assignment.
First, the update:
The assignment asks you to create a video presentation for the class based on at least six peer-reviewed articles. *I am reducing the number of articles required for the assignment to 4.* You only need to present on four articles. You should still ensure that you have at least one quantitative, one qualitative and one mixed methods study.
I have created a sample presentation which I’m sharing here to give you a sense of what this kind of presentation should look like. You do not need to use PowerPoint, but your presentation should take the form of narrated slides – in other words, you need both a visual component and an audio component.
In this assignment, you are required to develop a presentation around a topic selected from the list provided that involves obtaining at least six peer-reviewed journal articles that revolve around a certain problem in the social sciences field. Develop a series of slides that outlines the citation of the articles and a brief summary of the methods and the sampling of each. You are to group them by methodology, and make sure to have at least one article in each of the three major methods categories discussed in this course; namely, quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods.
To successfully complete the assignment, you are expected to read and study all assigned readings for this module. It is highly recommended that you familiarize yourself with the grading criteria provided. Ensure that you cover all relevant information expected of you in the assignment. Use at least two outside reference sources to support your writing.
Select a topic from the list provided in the Overview.
Based on your selected topic, locate at least four peer-reviewed articles.
If you are having challenges finding peer reviewed articles for your topic, contact the library. If you let them know what you are trying to find, they will be able to assist you in a timely manner.
Develop a video presentation around your selected topic that addresses the following:
