hat is Your Data Story?
At this point, you have examined your data and are starting to formulate some ideas for action to address the problem or opportunity. How can you best convey your journey from framing the problem through data and analysis to proposed action(s)?
Duarte examines this question in Chapter 4. She talks about creating a DataStory or Story Arc, and she divides the story into Three Acts. In this DQ, you will use this framework to help you clarify your insights and shape your ideas:
In Week 2, you predicted what the data might tell you. Has your data analysis so far confirmed or refuted your hypothesis? Explain.
For Act 1, briefly state the problem or opportunity and explain how the data indicates its existence
For Act 2, what processes need to start, stop, or be done differently? What metrics will change when the problem is solved?
For Act 3, what is your Point of View (POV) on how to move forward? How did the data you found inform your POV?
