Assignment Instructions Step 1: Gather information Research organizational change and how it impacts emotions and behaviors. Reflect on the information you read in Chapters 2 and 3 in the Hodges textbook. You will also need to locate at least 2 scholarly articles in addition to the textbook to support your findings (centered around the topic you choose below). To find your scholarly articles, refer to the SNU Library and Google Scholar links found above in under the Writing Resources heading. Step 2: Choose ONE of the topics below for your research topic. Write your findings in a 2-3 page paper (not including title page and reference page). Research and report your findings on the impact that emotions have at work. Use personal experience(s). Research a topic concerning emotional intelligence. Provide a summary of your findings on the topic. Choose one of the following topics: The importance of emotional intelligence when leading. The relationship between emotional intelligence and successful change efforts. How can emotional intelligence predict resistance to change? Research and report your findings on what can influence an individual’s response to resist change. Rely on personal experience. You can also rely on the experience of colleagues. When completed, you should have cited a total of three sources in your paper (e.g., the textbook and 2 articles). Be sure to include these sources on the reference page. Suggestion: Open the paper with an introduction discussing what organizational change is followed by how emotions can play a role. This information would be followed by your topic of choice (step 2) and the findings you conclude from the research you collected. Wrap up the paper with a conclusion and a reference page.
