Read the “Video Best Practices” document, located in Topic 3 Resources before recording your video presentation, then create a and PowerPoint presentation with 9 slides total, including title and reference slides.
This assignment will help you begin to articulate your research study plan, which will be more fully developed in Topic 4.
Use the outline below to help you organize your PowerPoint presentation.
1st Slide – Title slide
2nd Slide – Research topic and explain why you are interested this topic
3rd Slide – Problem Statement
4th Slide – Research Study Question
5th Slide – Describe your proposed sampling approach (probability or non-probability) and provide a rationale for why this approach is being used.
6th Slide – Identify which sampling technique you will use. Explain why this technique is appropriate for your proposed study (stratified random sampling, snowball sampling, cluster sampling ect…).
7th Slide – Describe the specific steps you will use to obtain a sample based on your selected sampling approach (refer to Chapter 8 of your textbook for additional information). Explain the pros and cons of the approach you have selected as related to your research question.
8th Slide – Describe what specific steps you will take to recruit study participants and/or obtain a sample. Explain why this approach is a good match with your sampling plan.
9th Slide – Reference slide
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
