Write a three-page review/response of the article. Your paper should be composed of a brief summary of the author’s key points (about one page, the paper can’t be only a summary of Simmel’s article), followed by your analysis of and response to the author’s arguments (around two pages).
Consider these questions, let them guide you:
Who is the author? What’s their background (do a little research, what was he known for, what were his contributions)? When was the article written?
How does the author define fashion? Is it a positive or negative vision?
Why does fashion exist? What pushes its evolution?
Who is fashionable? Who participates in fashion?
What do you think about this theory? Does it make sense? What do you agree or disagree with?
You shouldn’t do a question and answer type of exercise, this is still an essay.
