This paper should be 1000-1250 words of double-spaced text using a twelve-point font and with one-inch margins. It should be roughly half original retelling and half critical reflective analysis: your story should be approximately 500-750 words and your reflection should be around 500-750 words.
Your original retelling will be evaluated by your use of imagery (providing significant details, “showing not telling”, avoiding generalization), characterization (description of characters’ physical appearance, action, thought, symbol, etc. as well as any indirect thoughts), voice (the descriptive tone you set as narrator as well as the different levels of voice of any characters), and story (the use of narrative to convey the purpose of your story). Your reflection will be evaluated on your ability to answer the prompt, specifically your inclusion of references from your model primary source and from the two lectures. (I will send additional information about what we learned in two separate lectures and the model primary source by mid day tomorrow).  Hopefully if you want to start on the project asap you can start with the creative retelling half of the paper, and by tomorrow I will have info needed for the critical analysis.
