Purpose:
Examine types of cultural norms, deviant violations and social control in your life.
Requirements:
Not all cultural norms and deviant violations are created equally and some are more important than others. For this assignment, examine folkway and mores that are in your life. For each folkway and mores, provide a personal example and explain how you know that it is that type of norm.
Provide two examples of violations that vary in importance. For example, discuss a violation of a folkway and mores. Identify and explain the social control mechanisms.
Include course terms and theories for your analysis. Concepts and theories exploring types of norms and violations are covered in chapters 3 and 7.
Provide clear examples of your life or those in your immediate social context.
Formatting:
Create a slide presentation through google slides, powerpoint, or prezi. Be creative. No small font or full paragraphs. Include images. Slide show length should be approximately 8-10 slides.
Cite all sources including lectures, textbook and lesson slides. Focus on course material!!! Review grading rubric.
