and to develop strategies for academic success.
Directions:
1. Take the Index of Learning Styles. This quiz was developed by Felder and
Soloman to help college students succeed by identifying how they best learn. The
44-question Index of Learning Styles can be found at:
https://www.engr.ncsu.edu/ils/
Scroll down and click the questionnaire.
2. After answering the 44 questions, submit your responses by clicking on the
“Submit” button at the bottom of the Index.
3. Print your scores, so that you may refer to them during your write-up.
4. Record your scores below by bolding or highlighting your score for each of the
four learning styles. Save this document by clicking “save as:” and renaming this
document in the following manner: your last name.first
name.learningstylepreference.docx. When the assignment is complete, upload
this document to Canvas.
5. Read the Description of Learning Styles document found in module week 1
6. Write eight paragraphs, not an essay, two for each learning style preference,
responding to the prompts below. Your written paper is to be double-spaced, with
1-inch margins, 12-point Times New Roman typeface, and demonstrating mastery
of the English language.
7.For each of the four learning styles, write two paragraphs describing the
following:
a) A situation when you learned in a way that is consistent with your
learning style preference identified by Felder and Soloman.
b) Based on your learning style preference identified by the Assessment
and the description of how a person with your learning style
preference can help themselves (found in the Description of Learning
Styles), how could/do you study that might make learning new
material easier?
