Overview
The poverty reflection assignment allows students to gather a broad, diverse perspective on poverty through an examination of policies and systems. The reflection process integrates scholarly research and a personal immersive simulation experience. A comprehensive examination of causes, costs, and social worker roles will increase awareness, knowledge, and social work competencies.
Instructions:
For the second part of your poverty immersive simulation experience, you will write content with a minimum of 3 pages and maximum of 5 pages (not including title and reference pages) in required APA format with APA headings/subheadings. You will include a minimum of 3 scholarly sources (including the required Land text). Scholarly sources to consider are Read items, journal articles and other statistical sources/databases, such as the U.S. Census Bureau, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), etc.
The Land text is broken into 3 parts. You should utilize your choices as APA headings for your paper. Include the following:
Part One (Land): Chapter 1 and your choice of two additional chapters (1-page content suggestion)
Part Two (Land): Choose two chapters (1-page content suggestion)
Part Three (Land): Choose two chapters (1-page content suggestion)
Be sure to integrate the following content for each Part, which includes two places (as seen in bullet points above):
Reflections of your poverty journal experience and the Maid’s experience
Locate 3 additional scholarly sources to fully develop any statistics or other needed information to inform your perspective and support or challenge the Maid’s experience
Biblical perspective
For your conclusion you will identify one social welfare system discussed in the Land text and report on the system process, using a minimum of 2 scholarly sources along with 3 strengths and 3 weaknesses of this system. Be sure to optimize the scholarly sources to support your opinion (approximately 1-2 pages content suggestion).
