so, this week’s reading should be pretty straightforward. The chapter distinguishes between two groups of societies, that is, traditional and complex. Traditional societies are those we usually study in anthropology, and that usually don’t have a system of writing. Complex are, well, societies that do have a system of writing, like our own society. I would like to stress particularly the paragraph on bullfighting and the one on Samurai, which are very interesting – to me, at least,
