An annotated bibliography is a student paper where reference list entries are followed by short descriptions of the work, called annotations.
• Specific requirements for this course:
o Use APA style, double spaced, font 12.
o Use a minimum of five high-quality academic sources, including at least three sources from academic journal articles. The two other sources can be from academic books, class readings or additional academic journal articles.
o Two paragraphs per source.
o Focus of each annotation:
▪ Paragraph 1: summarize the source and the main points, the source’s content.
▪ Paragraph 2: provide insights into the source’s relevance to the social movement you are studying, and assess/critique the source, identifying its strengths and weaknesses.
• Formatting guidelines such as margins, font, and line spacing follow APA Style guidelines, as set out in Chapter 2 of the Manual.
• Format and order references in an annotated bibliography in alphabetical order, the same as you would order entries in a reference list (sections 9.43-9.44 of the Guide).
• Each annotation should be a new paragraph below its reference entry.
• Indent the entire annotation from the left margin, the same as you would a block quotation. Do not indent the first line of the annotation.
• If the annotation spans multiple paragraphs, indent the first line of the second and any subsequent paragraphs an additional 0.5 in., the same as a block quotation with multiple paragraphs.

Focus on a social movement in any country in the English-speaking world that has an established social work profession with a Code of Ethics, since one of the parts of the assignment is to find out about the social work profession’s involvement in the social movement, linking the profession’s efforts to the (Canadian or insert country) Association of Social Work’s Code of Ethics. You can use more than one country for this assignment, but I strongly encourage you to use one country, to make it easier on yourself. You must choose one country to focus on when it comes to the involvement of the social work profession and the country’s Code of Ethics.
