After watching the film, I want you to consider/write about a Classical and Positivist approach to both the crime and punishment of Gypsy Rose Blanchard. In other words, how would a classical thinker consider the crime and punishment, and how would a positivist thinker consider the crime and punishment. Also, make sure to include which of the two you personally think is best, based on your assessment.

The purpose of this assignment is to take the course knowledge and apply it to real world situations. In other words, I want you to relate it to the empirical (i.e. fact-based) knowledge garnered from the course texts and lectures. This assignment is like the previous DBP but should include more depth in your nuanced understanding of the classical and positivist schools. Try to use as many keywords and concepts as you can – showing me you understand the course materials. To this end, you should include APA citations and references when discussing the film and two schools of thought (see APA citations folder for help).
