You will develop a White Paper Assertion and Outline based on the topic you selected.
Naming Convention: MLCDL_SFC_LNAME_ASSERTION OUTLINE
An Assertion is a stylistic approach or technique involving a strong declaration, a forceful or confident and positive statement regarding a belief or an fact. Often, it is without a proof or any support.
While there is no designated format for the White Paper Outline, you will be ahead if you use the White Paper Template provided above. You will submit one outline based on the White Paper Topic.
The outline will include your assertion and outline showing the subcategories of the main topic, ensuring that you address how it supports the overarching theme, and a reference page with your initial references.
Keep in mind the White Paper must include the following:
Introduction/Summary
History/Background and Context
Problem (Defined)
Discussion to relate point of view from sources used
Writer takes a position
Solution/s
Conclusion.
The individual paper will form a comprehensive discussion and recommended solution to the contemporary issue facing the Army and nation. This paper forms the foundation of the individual brief.
