Here is a background
I’ve been wanting to get a master’s degree for a long time, and I have not because of the cost. This time I applied and got into a rehabilitation counseling program because I was told at the beginning that I could apply for this stipend and reduce the cost or have it covered.
I come from a background of extreme poverty and have struggled to stabilize my life and my career. However, I’ve dedicated all my life to help others. Since my youth I was a volunteer instructor in rural communities, and once I came to the United States I made a career in the Vocational Education field for disadvantaged youth, after that, during the pandemic I worked as a program administrator and career counselor for military members and their families, I continued later on as a manager for student services and coordinator for DSPS (disabled student programs and services), and currently working at a research foundation training a large agency on career pathways and job placement for equality and employment longevity for disabled and neurodiverse population.
