Part One: Research
Identify the issue or topic that you will be researching. Your topic may expand upon an issue covered in the course, or may explore other areas associated with death and dying. Explore culture, diversity and legal and ethical issues in your research. If you need help choosing a topic for your research paper, please contact your mentor for assistance.
You are required to research, a minimum of ten (10) current research articles (within the past 5 years) taken from scholarly journals (online or hard copy) on your selected topic.

Part Two: Agency or Setting

Visit an agency or setting that provides services for individuals, families or survivors suffering from the issue or topic you’ve chosen. The agency or organization can be a setting that houses or provides direct services, or, a therapeutic community, individual therapist or support group that provides services. During your site visit, gather information aligned with the following:
How is the organization or setting structured?
Are there any cultural, spiritual or religious aspects included?
Are there any legal and ethical issues to consider?
How does the setting process end-of-life issues with the patient/resident/client or family and loved ones?
How is compassion fatigue and self-care of the staff or helping professionals managed?
What other additional information do you wish to include?
Writing your paper: Writing a brief introduction as to why you chose this issue. Present your research, written in your own understanding, integrating aspects of your site visit. Compare and contrast what the research says, to your experience during your site visit. What are your own thoughts of the research you explored vs. your experience at the site you visited? Did what the research proposed align with your experience? What thoughts do you have about future research that might help those suffering from the topic you chose? Remember to cite your references in APA format.
Your paper must be 10-12 pages plus a title and reference page.
