What core values would you risk your life and freedom to defend?
– The main core values that I would definitely risk my life or freedom to defend would be freedom and equality for all. I also value empathy, acceptance, equality and a willingness to listen. I always try to act in good faith to people even if they disagree with what I believe in. Freedom is synonymous with liberty, which translates to the ability to freely express oneself, to choose the lifestyle that suits me, to practice any religion, to decide my orientation, and so on. As a result, I would risk my life and freedom to defend the right to liberty because when a community is deprived of the opportunity to live as they wish due to their social or ethnic heritage, that type of injustice impacts us all. Prejudice may impede the nation’s progress when a portion of its population is excluded from advantages and resources. As a result, we must speak up and protect every individual’s right to equal treatment and inclusion.
Could a nation going to war be appropriate in certain circumstances – or is war never an appropriate response?
– I do not think war is ever an appropriate response. I would only fight as a last resort to defend, never for offensive purposes. The consequences of war on the general population of the nations involved has long-term negative effects including but not limited to economic or social stagnation or decline, decrease in population caused by death, disabilities and psychological and emotional trauma.
