Using first and second person

You must develop your own topic, but you can send me the topic for review and feedback via email. Some example topics are the the intersection of Christianity and war in “The Knight’s Prologue and Tale,” “Greed and Evil in “The Pardoner’s Prologue and Tale,” or Love in “The Miller’s Prologue and Tale.”
The essay should focus on the primary work and avoid:
addressing contemporary comparisons
using first and second person
addressing a wide variety of possible arguments.
Any summary of the work should be used to support the thesis. Large sections of summary should not be used.
This essay must use at least two (2) scholarly journal articles retrieved from the TCC (tarrant county college) library in addition to the primary source. Short, summary, reference, or biographical sources may not be used. All quotes, paraphrases, and summaries must be correctly attributed. You must also include a MLA style works cited page (this does not contribute to the total page length). No more than two block quotes may be used, and no block quote may be longer than six lines long.
Your introduction must introduce the author of the work and a brief (3-4 sentence) summary of the whole work. Summary outside of the introduction must be brief (1-2 sentences) and directly in support of your argument.
Your thesis must be the final sentence of your intro and make a clear assertion about the work that you will support throughout the rest of the essay.
Your body paragraphs must each utilize a clear topic sentences.
Each assertion should be supported by both primary (your chosen tale) and secondary (the library journal articles) source material.
You should only refer to the author by their last name after the first introduction of the author in the introduction.
Your essay should show a strong familiarity with the work and should use literary elements and terminology to explain your debatable, interpretive angle and argument.
Your essay should be written in academic style (do not use first or second person, use academic language, use MLA formatting) and include examples or quotes from the primary work.
