(CC1; CC5; CC7): Last week, you submitted a proposal describing your research paper topic. For this assignment, you will write the first draft of your paper. Again, you can choose to write about any topic related to human development at one point during the lifespan (e.g., attachment during infancy, substance use during adolescence). Be sure that your draft follows these guidelines:
Content Guidelines
Introduction (1/2 to 1 page): Clearly state the topic of the paper and define any key terms; briefly describe why the topic is important, and briefly review the organization of the paper (e.g., “This paper will start by reviewing… and will then discuss…”).
The main body of the paper (6 pages): Examine in greater depth the topic of your paper by citing relevant research that has been conducted. Use section headers to help organize the paper.
Discussion/conclusions (1-2 pages): Briefly restate the purpose of the paper, including the topic that you examined. Briefly reiterate what research has found in this area (i.e., the bigger-picture patterns or themes); discuss the strengths and limitations of this work, and identify some potential directions for future research.
References (1 page): Include five to eight references and use APA format for all in-text citations and references.
