Purpose:
The purpose of an educational factsheet is to provide practical, field-related information on the critical appraisal of the complexities of ethical and professional issues in group work counselling for a specific target audience conveyed effectively, clearly and concisely through both text and graphics.
As a counselling professional, you will frequently be asked to provide information in a visual format, either to engage a particular audience or to facilitate understanding. Although the quality of the textual content of your assessment remains the main measure of success, acquiring the digital skills to present the information in a visually appealing medium is a key part of your studies at ACAP.

The audience for your factsheet should be industry professionals. You may choose a particular context in which the industry professionals are based (e.g. those working with young people), or you may choose to keep it more general. Please make this clear within your Factsheet.

Format:
Program: MS Word or MS PowerPoint
Paper size: A2
Pages: One, including reference list
Title: Ensure the factsheet has a title including your name and student number.
Word Count: Between 850-1200 (+/-10%) depending on graphical content. The reference list is not included in the word count.
Orientation: Landscape or portrait
Font: Times New Roman 12pt is to be used throughout, except in the case of headings, which may use a larger font size, and the reference list, which should use 8-10pt
Visual aspects: It is expected that visual aspects such as the use of colour and the inclusion of images or graphic elements will form part of the successful completion of the assignment. Images and graphics should be chosen for the purpose of information, and not decoration.
Language: The language in an educational factsheet should be tailored for the audience it is directed at. Consequently, the tone may be less formal and the wording can be simpler to meet the needs of a lay audience.
References: An APA7-formatted reference list is to be included on the page in Times New Roman 8pt or 10pt. To set the page size to A2 in MS Word (PC guidance)
Go to the ‘Layout’ tab, click on the ‘Size’ button and go to ‘More Paper Sizes’.
In the ‘Paper size’ dialog box, select ‘Custom size’ at the bottom.
Change the Width to 42 cm and change the Height to 55.87cm (maximum size allowed)
Click ‘OK’; if a margins dialogue box opens, click ‘Ignore’, and the page will be resized.
Save as normal.
