    • In Stephen Cranes The Veteran, Henry Fleming, the boy from The Red Badge of Courage, is now an old man. If necessary go back and re-read the short excerpt from The Red Badge of Courage. Consider how Henry changes from a glory-seeking but scared young soldier at the beginning and how he feels at the end. Apply the concepts of resiliency and post-traumatic growth in Dr. Moores video and Dr. Gerkens concept of strength-building to analyze the story.

      • What two (2) characteristics does Henry show that he developed through his wartime experience that he exhibits as an old man in relating his war experience and in his act of heroism in the story?
