Legislative History

Many bills are submitted in state legislatures across the nation, but only a small percentage actually become laws. It’s a good idea to read about the legislative process before starting the paper.
I have provided the site for the North Carolina legislature, to find and follow a bill, and every state legislature has a similar site. Follow a bill
presently under consideration in any state legislatureand do a mini-legislative history of this bill. This means describe all the steps a bill goes through and where in that process “your” bill is now.

Here is the site: https://www.ncleg.gov/Legislation

The bill can be on any subject except gun control and abortion.

Answer the following questions, in a paper format.

1) Who sponsored the bill? Are there any co-sponsors?

2)What is the content of the bill, what does the sponsor hope to achieve with it? (Example: is it about pollution, education, commercial fishing, dog pounds?, Will it limit pollution in some way or ease environmental regulations, allow more charter schools, call for licenses etc?)
Are there any expenses associated with it?  Should be in the body of the bill, you will have to read it).

3)What is the process in the state for a bill to become a law? At what point in this process is the bill? Have any committee reports been issued, a floor vote?

4)Has it become a law? If not, do you think it will? What would need to happen?
Is it politically feasible, i.e. is there any chance it will become a law? Because…?
