Think back to Week 1, when you were asked to describe your beliefs about the field of psychology. How have your beliefs changed? Throughout the course, you have learned to think like a psychologist by taking a scientific approach to understanding observable behaviors and internal experiences such as emotions, perceptions, and cognition. You may find that you now see the field somewhat differently. For example, you may realize that some of your beliefs from the start of this class were incorrect. You have expanded your knowledge and become more confident in your understanding of the science of psychology. Hopefully, you have begun to uncover the secrets of how the brain is connected to our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Take some time to reflect on how this has affected you this term, and plan how you will incorporate your new knowledge into your everyday life.
Write a 2- to 3-page reflection addressing the following:
Reflect on what you have learned throughout the course, and write a response to the following:
Explain how the learning resources, discussions, and assignments from this course have affected your overall way of thinking about psychology and society. Be sure to reference the specific resources, discussions, and assignments from this course that had an impact on you.
Explain how psychology relates to your thoughts, feelings, and an aspect of how you were raised.
Explain how a psychology practitioner might impact this type of development.
Explain how you might be using psychology in your own development or personal life.
Explain how you might use psychology in your professional life.
