variety of the rhetorical terms and concepts we’ve discussed in class and Panther Guide, identify <
and assess the effectiveness of the rhetor’s claims, message, and overarching argument, as well <
as their various rhetorical choices and strategies throughout the text. This is a thesis-driven <
essay. Your thesis should present a clear, overarching claim about the author’s use of rhetoric. <
Your essay should not simply be a litany of terms or a “grocery list” of rhetorical aspects of the <
text. You do not want to just “talk about” the rhetorical features of the text. Instead, this <
assignment invites you to put your new rhetorical knowledge to work by using the terms that you <
think pertain best to your text to evaluate the significance/effectiveness of the writer’s choices <
and strategies.
