Apply all you’ve learned on the previous essays. Also see the handout on the module about citing a poem properly, which is by line number and showing line breaks. Remember also to address literary devices, not just listing but explaining them, offering multiple interpretations and considering counterargument. Remember not to merely list poetic devices (Bishop uses a simile in saying the fish’s bladder is like a peony) but to actually analyze why those devices are used (why compare a bladder to peony? What do the two have in common? What is the poet implying with that connection?).
