The coursework assignment provides an opportunity to work in groups or individually to create a questionnaire designed to measure a psychological construct of your choice. The essay will consist of a critical discussion of how questionnaires are constructed and a critical evaluation of your group/individual questionnaire.
Working individually or in a small group, create a short (e.g., 6-8 item) questionnaire to assess a psychological construct of your choice. The psychological construct should be one that individual differences researchers would be interested in, such as a personality trait). If working in groups, you would create one questionnaire per group. If working individually, you would create one questionnaire.
The questionnaire itself is not assessed but forms the basis of the assessment.
The assessment is an essay of no more than 1500 words consisting of a critical discussion of how questionnaires are constructed, using the questionnaire that you created as the basis of the discussion. The essay should focus on every stage of the process of constructing a reliable and valid questionnaire. Thus, the essay should not consist of a simple descriiption of the process but should include critical evaluation of different options and decisions that researchers ae required to make when constructing a questionnaire.
