Purpose: You’ve begun the process of answering the questions: Who are you? Where are you going? and How will you get there? Self-leadership is a purposeful process and like anything else, requires reflection and planning. Having a plan that you can access is an important part of sustaining self-leadership development and reaching your long term goals.
Instructions: Self-reflection and self-leadership development plan. This APA formatted paper has three parts and should be 5-9 pages in length total.
Part 1: Reflect on what you’ve learned about yourself in this course.mIn 2-4 pages, address the following:
What are the five most salient things you’ve learned about yourself through this course, through the assessments you’ve taken and your reflections? One of these must be about your cultural identity.
For each one, briefly describe why they are an important part of who you are, and how they are important to being an effective self-leader.
Provide evidence for these. For example, if you say I am often thinking about the future – how did you learn this? Did you score high on the Adult Hope Scale? Do you have optimism or hope as one of your signature strengths? Is one of your top CliftonStrengths ‘Futuristic’?
Use the information from previous assignments and include your instructor’s feedback where appropriate. You may use some of the content from other papers you have submitted in this course, but do not copy and paste sections of those papers
How does understanding more about who you are and your cultural identity impact your intercultural competence?
How does knowing more about who you are impact your moral courage (your ability to be authentic in the face of risk or disapproval in order to benefit the greater good?) And how does this impact your ethical decision making?
Part 2: Self-Leadership Development Plan
In 2-4 pages, address the following:
Create a self-leadership development plan that you will use beyond this course. Be specific in this plan and describe at least five tools (e.g., strengths, positive emotions, gratitude, mindfulness, hope) that you’ve gained from this course and how these translate into tangible activities/behavioral changes to help you reach your long term goal of completing your degree at ACU. These may overlap somewhat with your resilience plan in week 5, but you should use different strategies/tools as much as possible. Use the information from previous assignments and include your instructor’s feedback where appropriate. Do not copy and paste sections of previous papers, but you may use some of the content. You will weave them together to develop a well-crafted, usable plan that will help you live into your Christian vocation and reach your long-term goal of completing this program successfully. How will you remember to use these tools? How often will you use these? Be specific.
Part 3: Who am I? Where am I going? How will I get there? Infographic
In a one page infographic, address:
Who Am I? List the five most salient things you’ve learned about yourself in this course (from part 1 of this assignment). One of these must be about your cultural identity.
Where Am I Going? (The answer in this case is your long term goal of completing your degree at ACU).
How Will I Get There? List the five strategies you will use (from part 2 of this assignment).
You will turn this in, but it is also for you to post somewhere visible so that you will remember to use these strategies.
