LO 15.1 Summarize age-related physical changes during middle adulthood
Discussion Post Individual: Chapter 15 discusses age-related changes in vision and hearing during middle adulthood and normative patterns of change in the skin, muscles, and skeletal system during middle adulthood. Some of the changes are normal and part of aging, and some of these changes can be avoided because they are contextual. The purpose of this exercise is to explore ways in which a person may make choices to influence the aging process.
Directions: Read the following scenario and answer the question.
Lydia is a 19-year-old student enrolled in a lifespan class at the University of Florida. She enjoys hanging out with her friends at the beach during the day on the weekends and participating in study groups on campus. As she studies, she often eats candy or buttered popcorn. She goes outside and talks with her friends when they take smoke breaks, even though she doesn’t smoke. She has always been interested in learning and applying what she learned to her real-life.
After reading Chapter 15, Lydia wants to apply her knowledge to take care of her body. What does Lydia need to do?
