Performance Proposal
You will be proposing a performance that uses at least one of the theories or performance traditions we have studied in class to address a problem in your community (Might be easiest to use Brechtian Theories of performance). (You may define your community as you wish, but you must make it clear to your reader exactly how you are defining it.) You should begin by justifying why the theory/performance tradition you’ve chosen makes sense for your community or the issue your community is facing. If you choose this option, you will write your essay as if your audience is a campus committee to decide how performance budgets are allocated throughout the semester, and you will need to convince that committee that your performance is important and will address an important community issue or solve an important artistic problem.
