Please explain BOTH the legal and sociological perspectives on crime and punishment and provide examples from the various course readings and videos in weeks 9-12 to support your explanation. Please highlight the differences between the two perspectives.
What role does surveillance play in crime control and policing? Please provide an example from the Disparate Impact reading and the Over-Policing Black and Indigenous Lives video to support your explanation.
Please explain the concept of abolition as discussed in the course material. Then provide your personal view on abolition and explain the reasoning for your beliefs.
