Community Corrections Interview
Interview someone who works in the criminal justice system, for example, a police officer, probation officer, or police chief. Ask questions about the role of community corrections in their job or how community corrections affects their job. Also ask what they consider to be the proper role of community corrections in the criminal justice system overall. Prepare a list of questions in advance of the interview. As the interview proceeds, ask follow-up questions to learn more about aspects that interest you. Take notes or get permission to record the interview.
After the interview, write a brief report detailing the questions and their responses. Cite resources to compare empirical research findings to what you learned from the interview.
Your report should include:
A brief description of the interviewee’s job role.
A description of the impact of community corrections on the interviewee’s job.
An explanation of the nature of the questions you asked.
A summary of the interviewee’s responses.
Citations of your sources.
An analysis of how the research confirms or contradicts the interviewee’s responses.
Assignment Requirements
The report should be 5 pages in length.
At least three relevant scholarly sources must be cited.
The assignment must conform to APA style and format.
