Learning Goal: I’m working on a social science writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.Please respond to Christopher with 150 words When I worked for Delta Construction, which went out of business in 2018 in Hawaii, I was the party chief for several projects, including a massive civil project in Makakilo Valley on a steep rise. I worked along with heavy machinery, including bulldozers, graders, and excavators. During my time surveying, I rarely used hearing protection unless I was working alongside the D10 or D11 bulldozers. We were given disposable hearing protection only when we requested it from the safety officer. The soft disposal type earplugs sometimes fell out or didn’t do the job when working alongside the D10 and D11 dozers. I did that for five years, periodically going up and staking the roads, utilities, or just Max-Ex. I also worked alongside graders and excavators with little or no hearing protection. I did buy myself an earmuff, and I usually used it around the dozers. As I’m telling all of you this, I have a ringing in my ear because of tinnitus, a condition with a constant ringing sound in the ear. I regret not taking care of my hearing now. But I can still function. My dad also had terrible ringing in the ear and was partially deaf, but that was from the Korean War. I know now how he must have felt with the constant ringing in the ear. It never goes away.
