Learning Goal: I’m working on a research & summaries writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.The Causes of the Civil War. (6 Pages)
(A) Was the Civil War a just war? I want you to answer this question from both sides. So I want you to evaluate the actions of the Southern states that led to war (the secession itself, the firing on Ft. Sumter, etc.), and I want you to evaluate the actions of the Union that led to war (The calling up of soldiers, the refusal to accept secession as legitimate, the refusal to retreat from forts in the South like Ft. Sumter). You need to apply Just War Theory as found in the reading if you do this paper topic.
