Learning Goal: I’m working on a political science case study and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.The country you select must be one of the countries listed in the Uppsala Conflict Data Program 2020, i.e., the article you read for week one. You can find a list of the countries included by reviewing Appendices 1-3 in said article. Once you’ve chosen a country, your job will be to prepare a case study of that country’s organized violence (if there is more than one form of OV in that country, please choose only one of the conflicts). Within your case study, you must include the following elements: 1) Explain which category of organized violence this country falls under and why; 2) Identify the causes of the conflict, paying particular attention to one of the many causes we are discussing in class; 3) Describe the parties to the conflict, i.e., who is involved; 4) The effects of the violence (how many causalities, who is being targeted, humanitarian effects, financial costs); 5) You must propose your own pathway to peace, i.e., utilizing the tools we discuss in class, how do you propose to resolve this conflict (don’t be afraid to be creative!).This assignment should be 1-2 pages in length, TNR 12 point font. Your bibliography should be based on the American Political Science Association Style Manual, which can be found at their website. This assignment is worth 10 points.
