In an essay of 6-8 pages, answer the question, how much of a role should politics be allowed and/or required to play in deciding what and how people in the U.S. eat? Why? So for this essay, you need to decide a) how much of a role politics already play in what and how we eat and b) whether that’s acceptable and why or whether it’s not acceptable and why. This shouldn’t be an easy, all-or-nothing answer. You’re going to want to prioritize the different factors regarding what/how we eat and those factors’ effects on the U.S. diet, and then work from there.
You’ll want to reference the discussions of the writers and people in Rotten, the CQ Researchers, the Food Matters articles, and an outside source of your own. You might also want to consider your own experiences regarding what you eat and why you eat it.
Remember, this is your argument regarding how much influence the government, etc. should have on the U.S. diet, not just a summary of what everyone else thinks. You’ll need the other writers and people from Rotten to help you figure out your own answer to the essay question and to help you support that answer.
