We are going to examine a year that I think (please see attached) was significant for the tone of the advertising and it continues to have an impact today: 1988 (which was yours truly’s first presidential election I was eligible to vote in). Go to the 1988 campaign. INSTRUCTIONS TO FOLLOW: Identify an ad from the Dukakis collection you think is the “best” ad, using the production elements of political ads discussed in lecture as your criteria. Analyze the ad, briefly, using those criteria, to explain why you think it is a good ad. Pick an ad from the Bush collection and do the same thing for that ad. This essay should be between 250 and 350 words in length.
