For this assignment I would like you to Build your Brand. If you have ever thought about starting your own business, now is the time to be creative and build your brand. If you do not want to start your own business you can brand yourself. (Brand your name and be creative) How do you want the world to view “you”? You are your own business!
We need to come up with something that will stick with this business and will grow with it, “NAME / COLORS / LOGO.”
Please do the following:
1. What are the possible names of your business? give me two names that you feel would work for you and the business. “i say two because it may be tough to make a decision about the future of your business.” (Ex. Brad Fichthorn / B. D. Fichthorn / B.D.F )
a. after you have thought of a name i want you to go on godaddy.com and see if they have a domain name that you could use for a web site. you could also just google the name of your business to see if it already exists. I don’t want you to buy a site i just want you to explore what is available to you. Is the web address you would like available. If you would have to change it is it something easy for clients to remember. (what will the web address be for the business?) ex. bdfichthorn.com
b. Why did you choose the name of your business? Will the name help or hurt your business? What would possible clients think when they hear the name?
2. What will your color scheme be for your business? This is an important part for both you and the business. Remember, these colors will be on your business card, your web site, letterhead etc….
a. what made you decide to use these colors?
b. within the industries that you are working are these colors popular? are they unique?
3. Design your company name “font” and your logo! What do you see as your font / logo that will stick with you for years to come. (if you want to design multiple logos that is fine. Sometimes this is a tough decision)
a. is the logo unique
b. how will the name and font look on letterhead / business cards etc…
c. Do you feel that people will remember it? (underarmour, apple, chevy, penn state) You see the logo with out the name and you know what it represents.
d. Have you googled other businesses to see what they used? How does yours compare?
e. Why did you choose this logo and font for your business?
