Coming up with an effective hook is always one of the biggest challenges. Over the weekend, brainstorm how you want to interest your audience in the topic. Write out 3 different strategies/options so that your group can talk them through and pick the most effective one. Be as concrete as possible. 3 different strategies does not mean find 3 different quotes to use as a hook. I would like to see 3 different approaches to the hook.
At the end of this exercise, your group may have come up with an alternative that is not even on the list. That is okay–the purpose of this exercise is to find the best opening to build your talk around.
