Briefly try to explain in your own words what Lloyd and Bordo meant with regard to the ‘maleness’ of philosophy — you might want to structure your response around one of the following statements (but do whatever works for you):
“What has happened has been not a simple exclusion of women, but a constitution of femininity through that exclusion” (Lloyd, p. 388).
“What remains constant [in philosophy across time and culture] is the binary logic of the metaphysics, which posits a unitary identity, a center, a positivity — and then, defined against that positivity, that which is different, negative, and marginalized” (Bordo, 622)
