Analyze SINOPEC firm using the resource-based approach. Focus your analysis on the use of frameworks and tools associated with the approach. Try to explain what the approach tells us about the performance of the firm throughout time and with respect to best performers and/or the rest of the industry (competing firms). Your analysis must address at minimum the following issue:
Identify and evaluate key resources and capabilities of your company. What are the key value adding activities of your company? Does your company possess competitive advantage? What are its sources? Explain.
You should seek to emphasize in your analysis: (1) performance of the firms; (2) how is the firm similar/different versuscompeting firms and why; (3) how and whyisthe firm able (or notable) to create competitive advantage.
Relevant data sources are necessary to substantiate your analysis. Do not forget to reference them! You may use all available resources you find useful but be mindful of the reliability of your source.
Research reports will be evaluated based on the depth of thinking, quality of reasoning, extent of supporting data, and clarity of writing, rather than quantity of the text.
