After reading these chapters, you can see citizens often find it difficult to understand the police and the power they have. For
this assignment, you are to find two academic articles in the Criminal Justice database in the the Waldorf Online Library.
One of the academic articles must be about attacks on police officers by citizens. The other one should be related to officer
attacks or abuse of power towards citizens. Try to keep all academic articles within the last three years.
For both articles, write a paragraph summarizing the article. Then, please write the remainder of the review answering the
following questions.
• In the article about police abusing their powers, discuss how the fourth, fifth, sixth, or eighth amendments related to the
case.
Discuss the charges and punishment received in the case, and explain whether or not you feel this is justice. Explain
why, or why not.
•Then, discuss how the officer’s rights were violated by the events described in the article relating to citizens attacking the
police.
Your paper should be in APA style with in-text citations and a reference page. It must be at least two pages in length, one
page for each article. The reference page does not count toward the two-page requirement.
